چکیده
Abstract Alum sludge is a typical by-product of the water industry. The traditional management method, disposing in landfill sites, poses critical environmental and economic concern due to significant increase amount disposal cost. In this paper, feasibility reusing as cement replacement investigated, physical performance microstructure modification concrete products made with discussed. obtained results indicated that satisfying pozzolanic reactivity after calcination at high temperatures grinding appropriate size was identified. When 10% replaced sludge, reaction degree up 39%, blocks exhibited superior mechanical performance. Based on microstructural analysis, e.g., x-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric advanced nanoindentation aluminum content incorporated into C–(A)–S–H gel; original “Al-minor” gel pure paste converted ‘Al-rich’ gel. Also, promoted formation aluminum-bearing hydrates, such ettringite calcium aluminate hydrates (C–A–H). Although Al incorporation had no effect hardness modulus gel, homogeneous properties (hardness measured nanoindentation) binder degraded increasing ash above 10%, attributing lower unreacted than clinker relatively degree. Using offers an economical environmentally friendly way dispose preserve diminishing natural resources. reduction usage may contribute achieving carbon neutrality.

Replacement of Cement in Concrete
Cement is a binding material, a substance that sets and hardens independently, and can bind other materials together. In ancient civilization the binding materials were of traditional type such as jaggery, lead, jute, rice husk etc, now in modern civilization cement is main binding materials. The use of concrete containing high volume fly-ash has recently gained popularity as a resource efficie...

Hybrid Concrete focused on the development of buildings, highways, and other structures of civil engineering. In the current study, various mix combinations have been prepared and tested with different percentages of super-plasticizer at different levels of water reduction for obtaining the optimum mix. Further, study on different properties of hybrid concrete and replacement of ordinary portla...
متن کاملEco-friendly Self-curing Concrete Incorporated with Polyethylene Glycol as Self-curing Agent (RESEARCH NOTE)
Today concrete is most generally utilized development material in the world due to its strength and sturdiness properties. To attain good strength, curing of concrete is important so we introduce the concept of self-curing concrete rather than immersion or sprinkle curing to avoid water scarcity. It was observed that water solvent polymers can be utilized as a self-curing agent, i.e. polyethyle...
متن کاملPartial Replacement of Metakaoline in Cement Concrete
Concrete is the extensively used construction material in the world. However, environmental concerns both in terms of damage caused by the extraction of raw material and CO2 emission during cement manufacture have brought pressure to reduce cement consumption by the use of supplementary materials. The utilization of calcined clay, in the form of metakaolin (MK) in concrete has received consider...
